Hello Beautiful Friends!
This one is for all of my short-waisted ladies! Let’s talk about some style tips that can help you achieve a streamlined look of balanced proportions.
Short waisted means you have a relatively short torso in relation to your leg length.
Measure from your underarm to your natural waist (narrowest part – above your navel). Next, measure your waist to your hip bone. If the measurements are about the same, you are evenly proportioned. If the first measurement is smaller, then you are considered short-waisted. If the second measurement is smaller, then you are considered long-waisted. (style tips for long-waist are coming next;))
V Neck Tops
Elongate the upper body.
No tuck or French tuck
Wearing a blouse or tee untucked or with a little french tuck will serve you well.
Long Necklaces
Lengthen your upper body with a long necklace.
Midrise Bottoms (8-9″)
A low or mid-rise will help to give you space between your waist and chest whereas a high rise will take up your entire torso.
Skinny Belts
Not a lot of space between your waist and your chest. Keep your proportions even.
Shift or Drop Waist Dresses
Shift dresses make your waistline invisible whereas the drop waist will elongate your upper body.
Petite Tops
Longline Blazers or jackets
Believe it or not, wearing a long 3rd layer will help with lengthening. If you are short-waisted and petite you might want to add a heel to give you overall length.
